Chinese New Year in San Francisco

14/02/2010 - 15/02/2010
Place: San Francisco

A tradition that dates back more than 5,000 years, in San Francisco the celebration began in the 1860's during the Gold Rush. The Chinese population in San Francisco wanted to educate others about their culture. The parade date changes each year based on the lunar calendar, generally occurring at the end of January or early February.
